BACKGROUND & TRAINING
I received my AAS in Chemical Dependency Counseling from Dutchess Community College and my BA in Sociology from SUNY New Paltz where I focused on the intersections of class, race, gender, and sexuality. I completed my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at SUNY New Paltz and my internship here at Live Your Truth Counseling. I have experience supporting survivors of sexual and domestic violence, folks navigating substance abuse, neurodivergent college students and families within the foster system.
RELATED HOBBIES & INTERESTS
I am someone who loves connecting with nature. I enjoy gardening, ceramics, dancing, hiking and the healing that comes from sitting around a bonfire. I spent several years as a young adult volunteering as an EMT and CPR/First Aid instructor which taught me the impact of being able to be a compassionate, grounded presence in challenging moments. It showed me how resilient people are and began my career of helping folks process their experiences.

SPECIALIZATIONS
I provide individual and relationship counseling to adults seeking to explore unhelpful patterns. I work with people who are curious and willing to be vulnerable. I support people navigating life transitions, exploring parts of their identity, experiencing anxiety, OCD, grief, ADHD, depression and those who want to shift their relationship patterns. I work with creatives, teachers, farmers, sex workers, queer folk, college students, and anyone willing to journey inward.
THERAPEUTIC STYLE
I practice through relational, trauma-informed, expressive and body-based approaches that are rooted in mutual respect, safety and collaboration. I work with clients to challenge limiting beliefs, find acceptance and explore the ways they want to expand in their lives. I engage the imagination and senses to support the mind-body connection and to develop strategies to access pleasure and presence in the nervous system.
COMMON ISSUES I HELP WITH
I work to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where people can express themselves openly and explore the beliefs they hold about themselves and the world around them. I believe in connecting to the power of where we come from and that each of us have a unique recipe for healing.
Clients have described our work as engaging and interactive. I have been given feedback that I have a kind presence and willingness to hold space in difficult moments. I think authenticity and humor are important parts of healing.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe there are many ways to access healing and that clients are the expert in that journey. I support bodily autonomy, abolitionism and the beauty that comes from diversity. I welcome the opportunity to work with folks who are different than me. I believe that therapy can help people connect to their strengths by exploring the stories they tell themselves and the meaning they make within them.
